We provide the Waikato area with a creative arts hub, where students of all ages can learn anything from; Dance, Drama, and Music Classes to School Holiday Programmes. Ignite Arts Academy believes everyone should be given the opportunity to join the world of Performing Arts.

Our Music Lessons
We offer a range of music lessons from guitar to keyboard, even violin, and MORE! We teach students at all skill levels, it doesn't matter if you're just a beginner or want to become a pro, we have the classes for you!
Age and skill are no barrier when it comes to learning with Ignite!
Our music rooms are purpose-built, intimate, and sound-insulated. They're designed to offer you a professional and comfortable experience in all classes.

Our Dance Classes
We have an amazing team of dedicated and passionate dance teachers at Ignite who use the ADPA syllabus to teach a multitude of different styles!
Our dance classes start from age 3 all the way through to 89! There's a class for everyone, whether your style is classic like ballet, more modern like Contemporary, or fun like Musical Theatre!
Our Dance Studio has a sprung floor and floor-to-ceiling mirrors! It's the perfect way to experience the joy of learning to dance.
Our Music in Schools Programme
Our Music in Schools (bus) Programme, provides small group music lessons, in our purpose-built bus, or in a spare classroom or school space at your school.
Group lessons are provided during school hours, at select schools in Cambridge, as well as Waipa and the greater Waikato area. This allows for children who may not have the opportunity otherwise, due to travel and distance, to access music lessons during the week.
Our goal is to make lessons engaging, fun, and easily accessible for all students.

ABOUT OUR CLASSES
Academy Music Lessons
Our music classes are available to students at any skill level and are recommended for students aged 7 & up.
We offer classes for:
Keyboard/Piano
Guitar/Bass
Drums
Vocals (singing)
Ukulele
Violin/Viola
Band
Not sure where to start? We also have an Intro to Music class that will take students through the fundamentals of THREE different instruments. This is a 10-week programme that provides a great foundation of music, and helps students decide which instrument they want to learn!
For those younger students who are eager to start, we have our Ignite the Beatz class. This class is tailored for students in Years 1 & 2. This programme runs across 4 terms and teaches the fundamentals of a few different instruments and helps students develop a great sense of rhythm!
Our Music classes are each 30 minutes and are held in one of our purpose-built, sound-insulated rooms! There are Private and shared lessons available.
Prices start at $18.50 per class for Intro to Music & Ignite the Beatz.
Shared lessons are $22/class, and Private lessons are $40/class.

We have a class for everyone! Got a 3-year-old who loves to move? Try out our Mini Movers class! If you want to learn something graceful, elegant, and classical - ballet is for you! Looking for something more upbeat with sharp turns, large leaps, and quick footwork - jazz might be more your speed. Want to learn how to express emotion with organic movements and unrestricted lines and experience the freedom of dance - you would love contemporary. Maybe you're more interested in becoming an expert of rhythm & freestyle, and after the fun and urban style of hip hop. And if you can't decide between music or dance then our Musical Theatre class is the perfect way to learn singing and dance together along with story-telling.
Class prices start at $14/class for Mini Movers & Pre-School classes. Our syllabus class prices are based on lesson length.

Music in Schools Programme
Not located in Cambridge? Can't make an after-school lesson? You don't have to miss out on lessons with us! Our Music bus goes out to nine schools in Cambridge and the surrounding Waikato area. Our bus is decked out with all the equipment and instruments that may be needed for lessons, and we have several experienced tutors who are thrilled to spread their knowledge to students from all over Waikato.

Our Music in Schools classes are held during school hours. Classes are only $17.50/class - there's even a family discount for siblings!
