"... Not only is this giving these children a wonderful opportunity, but it has also been done in a manner which has upheld their mana by ensuring the children felt welcomed and valued by the tutors. For some tamariki this was their first experience of learning music and while they felt a little unsure of themselves, the team at Ignite accommodated their needs and they are now building what may become a life long musical journey. We are all very thankful!"
In 2022 we successfully enacted our first round of scholarships, thanks to a generous local business. We were able to provide scholarships for 10 students in the Music in Schools program.
The Principals of these schools have been fantastic in helping us identify the students that would most benefit from these scholarships.
